There
were about 150 armed policemen stationed at various entries and
premises of Jos High Court where the Economic Financial Crime Commission
(EFCC) is set to arraign ex-Governor, David Jonah Jang of Plateau
state.
EFCC
is to arraign the immediate past governor before Justice Daniel Longji
of the Jos High Court on a 12-count charge bordering on alleged
corruption and stealing of N6.3 billion belonging to the state two
months before leaving office in May 2015.
Daily
Trust's correspondent counted about 10 policemen at first gate of the
court and about 15 also at the second gate of the court.
The reporter also counted about 150 armed policemen in total.
Within
the premises of the court there were also policemen stationed at
various strategic places to maintain security and order at the court.
As at
the time of filing the report Justice Longji was in court attending to
other cases before him, but the prosecutors, EFCC and the defendant,
Jang were yet to arrive the court, though there was presence of heavy
security.
