INEC begins distribution of 65,000 unclaimed PVCs in Bayelsa

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Bayelsa State says they will commence the distribution of about 65,000 Permanent Voters Card (PVCs) that are yet to be collected by the owners on Monday.

The newly deployed Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) in the state, Dr Cyril Omorogbe, told journalists in Yenagoa during a press briefing that the commission’s officials will take the PVCs to different registration points and communities to make it easy for the owners to claim their voters card.

According to Omorogbe, the commission’s officials have also been moving to all locations in the state to create awareness for people to come out and collect their PVCs for those that registered in the last quarter of 2017, and for those who are yet to register to take advantage of the on-going registration exercise.

He said, “we will start the distribution of about 65,0000 permanent voters cards on Monday, for people that registered some months ago, this is part of our efforts to ensure that everybody that registered get their PVCs before next year general election."
