Properties worth about 100million naira were destroyed by rainstorm in Aisegba and Agbado Ekiti in Gbonyin Local Government Area of Ekiti State recently
The damaged properties include the old palace of the traditional ruler of Aisegba and almost 60 other buildings in the community while more than 40 houses also had their roofs blown off in Agbado.
Conducting the General Manager of the State Emergency Management Agency, Mr. Jide Borode round for an on-the-spot assessment of the affected area, the Apalufin of Aisegba, Oba Solomon Omotoyinbo solicited the assistance of the State government as well as public-spirited individuals and corporate organisations towards renovating the affected buildings.
Oba Omotoyinbo stressed the importance of the old palace to the community, emphasising the building remained a historical object that must be preserved for future generation.
The General Manager of the State Emergency Management Agency, Mr. Jide Borode assured that the State Government would continue to provide succour for people in the State without bias for their political affiliation and religion.
