Tight security as court delivers judgment in Jolly Nyame's fraud case

There is heavy and tight security at an FCT High Court in Gudu today as the court is scheduled to deliver judgment in the case of alleged misappropriation of N1.64 billion state funds filed against former Taraba state governor Jolly Nyame.
Daily Trust correspondent in court observed three major security checkpoints before being granted access into in the court room. 

At the first two checkpoints, fully armed mobile policemen checked car boots, bag and vehicle compartments.

The third security checkpoint is exactly at the entrance of the court room where mobile policemen were physically searching those that want to enter the court. 

Inside the court room, two armed mobile policemen stood guard at the entrance.  

The defendant, Nyame entered the court room around 9:02am dressed in a dark brown kaftan. 

Thirteen minutes later, the court, already filled to capacity, is yet to commence sitting. 

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) charged Nyame on June 22, 2010 on a 21-count charge bordering on misappropriation of Taraba state funds to the tune of N1.64 billion while in office.

The trial judge, Justice Adebukola Banjoko, after the adoption of final written addresses on February 28, adjourned the matter to May 30 for judgment.
