President
Muhammadu Buhari is set to honour Abubakar Abdullahi, the 83-year-old
Imam of Nghar village, who saved 300 Christians during the Plateau
crisis.
The cleric will receive a handshake and national honour.
Recall
that an attack occurred on June 24 when suspected herdsmen invaded
about 15 communities in Barkin Ladi LGA, killing scores.
The
victims were said to be running for safety from a neighbouring village
in the area when the cleric invited them in and hid them in the mosque.
The attackers reportedly caught up with him and ordered him to bring out the people he had hidden.
They had to leave after the cleric refused.
