President Muhammadu Buhari has not extended his London vacation, the Presidency said last night.
Reports filtered round especially on social media that the President's vacation has been extended.
The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Malam Garba Shehu said there was nothing like that.
In his
reply to a text message by our correspondent, he said: " No. There is
no such extension. We announced 10 working days, meaning Monday to
Friday +Monday to Friday."
The
President had on August 3, this year commenced a 10-working day vacation
in London. The President's vacation was conveyed via a statement by his
Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina.
The
statement reads : " In compliance with Section 145 (1) of the 1999
Constitution, a letter has been transmitted to the President of the
Senate, and the Speaker, House of Representatives to that effect.
"
While the President is on vacation, the Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo
will be in acting capacity as President. President Buhari will be in
London for the holiday.
