2019 election: Buhari group wants NASS to approve N242bn

The Buhari Media Organisation (BMO) has urged the National Assembly to treat the N242bn virement request by President Muhammadu Buhari for the 2019 general elections with all seriousness.

The group made this appeal in a statement yesterday signed by the chairman, Niyi Akinsiju and Secretary, Cassidy Madueke, respectively.

It said the 2019 elections slated for February were of utmost importance for the overall well-being of the nation.

The group expressed shock that the PDP was “posing an obstacle to this important national assignment as they alleged that the president’s request will be marred by controversy since it did not come as a supplementary budget.

“It is rather unfortunate that while President Buhari is focused on utilising available resources for the good of all Nigerians, the PDP will stop at nothing to be a cog in the wheel of progress,” the statement said.
